Eddy Purwanto was appointed Deputy of the Department of Housing, Infrastructure, and Spatial Planning for the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Agency (BRR) for Aceh and Nias. He brings to BRR 27 years of experience in the areas of project management, policy development, multilateral cooperation, reconstruction, and development.

Eddy, 53, currently serves as Assistant Deputy for Multilateral Economic Cooperation for the office of the Coordinating Minister of Economics, after previously holding the position of Assistant Deputy for Investment and Business Restructuring for the same office. He also fulfills multiple functions in the area of governance, restructuring and social security, and is Program Director for Financial Governance and Social Security Reforms, an executing agency formed by the office of the Coordinating Minister of Economics. In addition, Eddy chairs the working group for the rejuvenation of regional drinking water companies and the sub-working group on the formulation of national social security system.
